Crocodile numbers (comparing numbers to 20) - math cards and worksheets

'Crocodile numbers' is a fun and versatile math resource that's perfect for kindergarten age children who are working on building number sense.

These activities give children practice at comparing numbers to 20 and will help them become familiar with the greater than, less than and equals math symbols.

This resource is made up of 2 parts.

Part 1: Crocodile cards (<, > and =) and number cards

The first part of this resource includes 4 sets of number cards for the numbers 0 to 20 as well as fun and colourful 'crocodile' cards, representing the greater than, less than and equals math symbols.

The 4 sets of number cards represent the numbers 0 to 20 in number form, word form, as base ten blocks and ten frames.

These cards are great for use in a small teacher-led focus group, where children can practice comparing the numbers 0 to 20 represented in different ways.

Part 2: 'Crocodile numbers' no prep worksheets.

The second part of this resource consists of 8 fun 'crocodile numbers' no prep worksheets.

The 8 different activities are as follows:

Activity 1: comparing numbers 1 to 10 (cut and paste activity)

Activity 2: comparing numbers 11 to 20 (cut and paste activity)

Activity 3: comparing 1 to 20 shown as base ten blocks (cut and paste activity)

Activity 4: comparing numbers 1 to 10 shown as ten frames (completing number sentence with <, > or =).

Activity 5: comparing numbers 10 to 20 shown as ten frames (completing number sentence with <, > or =).

Activity 6: comparing numbers 1 to 10 shown as both ten frames and numbers (completing number sentence with <, > or =).

Activity 7: comparing numbers 10 to 20 shown as both ten frames and numbers (completing number sentence with <, > or =).

Activity 8: comparing numbers 10 to 20 shown as base ten blocks and numbers (completing number sentence with <, > or =).
