Help your child practise place value with this set of task cards for 2-digit numbers.

This resource contains 32 task cards designed to help your child/students develop their understanding of place value.  This activity is a great fit for children in grade 1, or any child who needs practice working with tens and ones.

Each task card has a question with an answer that is a 2-digit number. Throughout the cards, 2-digit numbers are shown in lots of different ways, for example as numerals, in expanded form and as base ten blocks.

Throughout the cards, there are lots of different question types. Some questions might ask you to say what number is being shown in base ten blocks or expanded form. Others might ask you to compare two numbers using the <, > and = symbols.

The final eight cards are 'extra challenge’ cards.  These cards focus on adding 10 to, or subtracting 10 from, a given 2-digit number and are a little more challenging than the rest.

The task cards are included both in colour and in black and white.

An answer key and answer recording sheet are included at the end of the resource.
